Take a look at our featured instrument for the month of November! It has quite the long history.
Made in Mittenwald, Germany in 1761 by Christoph Leissmiller, this violin has most of its original varnish and the unique feature of a hole in the back of the scroll. In the past musicians would use this hole to help store extra gut string.

Meet Mike Johnson, the future owner of Jennifer’s #32.  It may just be a rough piece of wood now, but soon enough it’ll be carved out into a violin made to his specifications!

He came all the way from Oklahoma to handpick the wood we would use from our personal collection.  Custom making is Jennifer’s absolute favorite aspect of the job.  She interviews the future owner to discover the desired tone that they want, and has the measurements determined to maximize their comfort before the first cut is even made.
